Cultivators and Growers

Cultivators recognize the need to protect against a wide range of disasters including fire, plant failures, theft, and equipment breakdowns. At Millers Insurance, we work closely with cultivators to identify and protect against these and other risks.

Suggested policies for cultivators include: Crop Insurance, Business Interruption, Commercial Property, Business Owners Policy, General Liability, Product Liability, Inland Marine, and Worker’s Compensation.

Crop Insurance

Typically subsidized by the federal government, but not in the case of cannabis/hemp, specialty policies cover loss from natural disasters or loss of revenue from a decline in crop prices.

Business Interruption

Insurance that covers the loss of income that a business suffers after a disaster, typically carrying with Virus-Exclusion clauses but this is a widely debated topic in the midst of COVID-19.

Commercial Property

Coverage for the risk of disasters or other covered perils to your business property and equipment such as inventory, fixtures and furniture, point of sale equipment or other items used.

Business Owners Policy

A business owners policy combines property and liability coverage into one package. It's popular among medium sized businesses such as retail stores, wholesalers and contractors.

General Liability

Broad type of insurance policy that provides liability coverage for general business risks including personal injury, bodily injury, property damage caused by the business or its products.

Product Liability

Coverage for products that your company either manufactures or sells in the event of a product defect that causes injury or property damage where your business could be held liable.

Inland Marine

Coverage of business property that is movable such as products, material and equipment while they are being transported on land by vehicles such as a truck or train.

Worker's Compensation

Insurance providing wage replacement and medical benefits to employees injured during employment in exchange for the employee's right to sue his or her employer for negligence.
